Nutty Scientologist - Defending the Indefensible

A former Scientologist recently put up a video on youtube that allegedly shows Scientology President Heber Jentsch rambling on KFI Radio about his programs (front groups) that "helps" people (get indoctrinated and brainwashed). When the person in this video is successfully rebutting against the Scientologist claims, the Scientologist then goes off on a tangent telling them that "they are on drugs," drug pushers and any other comment that relates to drug enabling. He even goes off yelling at the person like a madman. He interrupts the person who is giving the rebuttle. This scientologist makes 4th graders look like adults. This sounds like the Westboro Baptist Church. Also it is pure comedy gold that is great for everybody from age 5 to 105.

NarCONon is a scam.. don't not take part in it. Keep hold of your thousands of dollars. Scientology have recently gave off false delimmas saying to others [including Anonymous], who are critical of these programs and any of their front groups including the cult itself, that if you are against - {Insert Program} here - in this case Narconon, then therefore you are against people getting better and getting off of drugs. That tactic is basic rhetoric fallacy known as the false dilemma. [The definition is below]. This two toned thinking leaves out other options: There are better programs out there that doesnt cost that much as narconon and have better results.

The informal fallacy of false dilemma (also called false dichotomy, the either-or fallacy) involves a situation in which only two alternatives are considered, when in fact there are other options. Closely related are failing to consider a range of options and the tendency to think in extremes, called black-and-white thinking. Strictly speaking, the prefix "di" in "dilemma" means "two". When a list of more than two choices are offered, but there are other choices not mentioned, then the fallacy is called the fallacy of false choice.

What was really behind 9/11? Now it can be told, at least by Scientologists: psychiatry.

It should comes as no shock that Scientologists, who think psychiatry is behind all the great wrongs of the world from the Middle Ages forward, would also cause terrorism. Still, it's just perverse to blame psychiatry for 9/11. But that's what Dave Figueroa, president of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (founded by the Church of Scientology), does in this video clip from Xenu TV.

"To take a person who's very religious," says Figuero, "and turn them into a killing machine against their will... you need something behind that, you need something fairly powerful. And psychiatrists employ drugs and conditioning techniques in order to change people from what they normally would be into killing machines. And the terrorist factions that we hear about on TV, behind those individual acts of mayhem, you find psychiatrists, psychologists, and their drugs."

The host asks about Ayman al-Zawahiri, a prominent Al-Qaeda lieutenant, whom Figueroa says "was the force behind" bin Laden. The important thing about al-Zawahiri, says Figuero, is that "he's a psychiatrist." (No one's proven that he has that certification, but presumably in the caves of Afghanistan unlicensed practitioners also qualify.)

He further says that though bin Laden has become the "poster child for terrorism... his whole thought patterns and his entire viewpoint was changed by Zawahiri. And whatever types of drugs that Zawahiri used to make that change in bin Laden we don't know." But, he adds, "we know that there was a real change in that guy's attitude," which is our favorite line in the whole thing.

As to whether Zawahiri is "100 percent the person behind 9/11 or not, I don't know if we're ever gonna know," but "that ideology of terror was coming from bin Laden" -- who, we are reminded, "was influenced by a psychiatrist."

The host prods Figueroa to further explain the causes of terrorism, giving him an opening to mention the well-known, timeless forces of ideology and religion. But Figueroa sticks with "psychiatric drugs," among which he includes the amphetamines used by Kamikaze pilots in World War II. (Presumably psychiatry is also responsible for long-distance truck driving and Ted Haggard.)

Some other guy briefly appears to emphasize that Zawahiri is a psychiatrist and the "guy who runs" bin Laden, and the host offers you a pamphlet from which you may learn more. But you don't need a pamphlet to get the message: if you're depressed or anxious, don't go to a shrink or you may wake up with the blood of 2,752 New Yorkers on your hands.

This is a video deconstructed by the scholar of social sciences, 13heathens. He takes the final chapter of the book which Scientology was founded on, Dianetics, and tears it apart. Some of the language in the audio book is very disturbing. At one point the audio book states that: "Dianetics is not interested in saving the world. It is interested only in preventing the world from being saved." Scientology is clearly dangerous and the rhetoric from the dead cultist founder L. Ron Hubbard should be taken seriously. Thats why governments in the European Union such as Germany and France are taking action against Scientology becuase they lived through the memories of totalitarianism. Russia, which is not in the EU, had a massive student protest last week against Scientology becuase Scientologists prey on the first year students to join the cult. Religion should not be used as a cover for the purposes of taking over the world. Eventhough it might sound tin foily. Scientologists believe it or not, we all can read and understand the material. It doesnt take a scientologist to understand that Scientology is creepy in its own right. In Scientology's little world, they would be gung ho for this, but the world went through two world wars and a series of others that based on radical ideologies. Millions of people died because of someones ideology. Your radical 1950's paranoid ideology is not welcome in the 21st century. People shall not get hurt by Hubbard's schitzophrenic dream.

30 years after the Jim Jones cult, the Peoples Temple, massacre in Jonestown which hundreds of its adherents died; Scientology, a new more powerful cult is in America harassing, stealing from, brainwashing, and killing people.

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Jonestown massacre in Guyana in which more than 900 American men, women and children were killed either by forced suicide by drinking Kool-Aid laced with deadly poison, lethal injection, or brutally shot and killed.

The tragedy took place in the Guyana interior in the Port Kaituma area known as Jonestown, named after Rev. Jim Jones, the cult leader, where he occupied several hundreds of acres and kept his congregation continuously under siege. However 30 years later, we are facing a similarity in America dealing with another cult disguised as a church - Scientology

Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple back in the 1970's seemed to be an honest organization that did food drives and charity work to help the City of San Francisco. Members of the Peoples Temple would show up at rallies at city hall and at various places within the area at a moments notice. The charity work that Jim Jones and his adherents did in San Francisco made him a major player in San Francisco politics. However, that charity which the cult did was actually a front to make their public reception image great. In actuality their members would get beat with 40 lashes by the leader for doing what appeared to be "crimes" against the Temple. Those crimes lead to fear and anxiety within its membership where people would rat each other out.

The beatings would put fear in which members if defected knew the consequences. Some defections occurred most notably in 1973, when eight mostly young members, commonly referred to as the "Gang of Eight", defected together. Because members of the Gang of Eight were aware of sinister threats to potentially defecting members, they suspected that Jones would send a search party looking for them. They were correct, with Jones sending out multiple search parties including one scanning highways from a rented airplane.The Gang of Eight drove three trucks loaded with firearms toward Canada, avoiding watched Highway 101. Because they feared bringing firearms over the Canadian border, they traveled instead to the hills of Montana, where they wrote a long letter documenting their complaints.

The Peoples Temple left a legacy that etched the minds of America how religious fanaticism can be at its worst. Now a new threat is more great than ever and it has been undetected, the Church of Scientology. Scientology is equally as dangerous as Jim Jones but more sophisticated in its methods and the amount of money they have. Scientology has front groups, just like Jim Jones to take on a nice false public persona - Volunteer Ministers, Way to Happiness Foundation, Youth for Human Rights, Citizens Commission for Human Rights, and Narconon (Not affiliated with the real NarcAnon).

In a letter to the LA local magazine, Curbed, a random person was creeped out with Scientologists coming to his doorstep as a search party looking for a "blown" - a person who hightailed from the Scientology - scientologist named Mary. This is similar to the search parties that Jim Jones launched over 30 years ago.

"Dear Curbed: I never had feelings one way or another about Scientologists (live and let live is my feeling), but three just came to my house in Echo Park. They were wearing that "uniform" they wear (aka fbi looking outfits) and the man Scientologist knocked on my screen door and rudely said "Did I know where Mary Somebody was?..." I guess she was the renter before me (I rent). He said they were from the Dianetics Center and then rudely asked me about Mary again, saying "I better tell him if I know her." Given his rudeness, I decided to fuck with him and pretend I did know Mary. So I said MAYBE I know her and then I said Please Leave My Doorstep. He didn't leave, but again asked me about Mary. So I go outside to the doorstep/porch where he is (it's a shared porch with four other renters, a cut-up house), and say again, Please Leave. One of the Scientology women yelled at me that the porch was public property and they could be there. Anyway, eventually they left. But I am wondering if indeed my doorstep/ porch and the whole property is at all "private"; ie, was that woman Scientologist correct that she could be there? I guess I don't "own" any of it, but my landlord, does, right? Thanks."

Scientologists behavior is similar to any adherent of any random cult. There are thousands of videos on YouTube documenting the behavior. They scream in peoples faces yelling similar questions such as "What are your crimes?" "Why are you affiliated with a deprogrammer?" "You are a criminal" This is an account from an Anonymous protester, they have been protesting Scientology for nearly a year, which occurred after the Anti-Prop 8 Rally in Los Angeles.

"During the small flashraid, we were ambushed. They were literally inches from our faces, yelling.Patty even, at one point turned around, bent over and slapped her ass at us like "kiss it". She kept calling us criminals, so I went up to her and said "Patty, you say I'm a criminal? Prove it. Explain to me and prove how I personally am a criminal." she kept trying to change the subject and generalize, then eventually said "You are a criminal, I'll bet several of you are going to jail soon. I know you are a liar and a criminal and I'm sure we'll be able to figure out your crimes soon." I said "So you can't prove that I'm a criminal?" She said "No, I can't. But I will figure out your crimes."

Once we decided to leave, we were immediately followed. We stopped at a gas station and 3 of them stood across the street, waiting for us, screaming our names and barking at us. We continued to walk and they followed us for literally 2 miles.

When the woman passing by asked us what we were doing (masks and such), we gave her a flyer and started talking to her a bit. She said "some of the accusations are pretty intense. It's almost hard to believe." I explained that it is, but we have court documents and personal stories from people who have first have experienced it. Immediately after, Patty started going on and on about how we were bigot cyberterrorists and to not listen to us because we were full of lies. The woman started asking her questions and Patty continued to make herself look completely insane and yell at this poor woman, telling her how she was wrong, how I was evil, etc etc..and Patty kept saying that all she wanted to do was communicate with us. I turned around and said "You say that..." and Patty cut me off. I said "I've tried communicating wi..." and she cut me off to yell yet again. "Patty, I've tried to.." again and again. I explained to the woman "you see? Communication isn't what she wants." and the more Patty talked to this woman, the more she started questioning Patty and explaining to her she was just helping our cause and making herself and her church look worse. We eventually parted ways and Patty continued to follow us.
Please note that while they followed us, screaming at us, screaming our names, etc, we never once responded to her, or gave her the word battle she so desperately wanted. We just kept walking.

When we got to our friend's house, Patty and the gang walked right up to the front of the lawn and accused Empress of harassing them, or being stalking terrorists, etc...many of the neighbors were outside and watching at this point and witnessed the entire thing. We went inside, stayed for about 45 min and when we left, Patty and Co. were STILL outside. Standing on the sidewalk, in the dark, waiting for us."

Scientology has a crazy reputation that parallels Jim Jones. It roams around undetected but in the end people get hurt and even die.

Scientology Lies About Medical Treatment.

Scientology is caught lying once again. This time they claim that they say they dont oppose medical treatment of certain illnesses which are neurologically related. With the news of Jett Travolta coming out, questions of fake medical claims by scientology are out. Millions of people are outraged against the scientology cult.

An autism activist, who spoke on the condition that her name not be revealed, said anti-seizure medication could have controlled the attacks that cops said John Travolta's son was prone to suffering.

Police said Jett, 16, had a seizure Friday that led him to fall and hit his head on a bathtub in a Bahamas hotel.

It is not known if he was taking medication.

But the church to which his parents are devoted would have discouraged the use of any medication for the seizures that affect 25 percent of teen autistic suffers, said Scientology experts.

And his parents have repeatedly denied their son could have autism - an illness the church says doesn't exist.

"I believe this is something that was totally avoidable," said the autism activist, who asked not to be identified by name because she says she has a friendship with Travolta's brother, Joey.

"There were such clear indications that this kid had autism," she said. "It's bothered me for years.

"The irony is not lost that Joey has committed his life to working with autism and disabilities, and his brother, for religious reasons, would let this happen.

"Joey tries to be as supportive of his brother's choices as he can be, but this has really upset me."

According to the Church of Scientology, people with disabilities like autism are classified as "degraded" and capable of curing themselves by working harder on the church's teachings.

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston repeatedly denied speculation that their son exhibited autistic symptoms.

Instead, they blamed their son's problems on a bout with Kawasaki syndrome as a toddler. The rare disease is characterized by high fever, skin rash and swelling of the lymph nodes. Left untreated the, illness can cause heart and circulation problems later in life.

Police believe a seizure led to Jett's fatal fall. The teen was found in a bathroom of the family's Bahamas vacation home Friday morning with a broken nose and smashed skull, cops said.

"The Travoltas as Scientologists - and very prominent Scientologists - would never consult a doctor to deal with the treatment of autism," said Rick Ross, a leading authority on the church.

"This child lived out his life without ever being evaluated or treated, in my opinion. The sad thing is, perhaps he could have been helped."

Jett's parents claimed to have treated his Kawasaki symptoms with a Scientology-prescribed course of "detoxification" - a regimen of diet and saunas that the church claims is purifying, but which Kawasaki specialist Dr. Adrianna Tremoulet has never heard of.

"I am not familiar with that therapy," she said yesterday. Standard treatment includes blood transfusions.

All medication - including anti-seizure drugs - are discouraged by the church, which believes drugs stockpile in the body over time and damage it, experts on the church said.

"The failure to give doctor-recommended drugs or medications to Jett might be considered to be a laudable Scientology ethics matter," said Michael Pattinson, a former senior-level church member.

Calls for comment from the church were not returned yesterday.

Initial reports from police that Jett's body lay undiscovered in the bathroom for nearly 10 hours were challenged yesterday by Travolta's attorney, Michael McDermott.

He said the teen was discovered within minutes by a nanny - whose screams brought Travolta sprinting from an upstairs bedroom.

The movie star tried desperately to resuscitate his son.

"John did everything he could, but it appears it was too late," said a detective.

The Travoltas remained on Grand Bahama Island yesterday, surrounded by more than 50 friends, family and church members who had jetted in during the week for a two-day New Year's party scheduled to end today.

The celebrations, including a catamaran cruise, were canceled as the grieving family instead planned Jett's funeral.

In a follow-up report HI.com told the story of the parent of a child with autism who confronted John Travolta on his son's reported affliction.

While our hearts go out to the Travoltas for the tragic loss of their son, to illustrate the inherent danger of Scientology when it comes to the willful non-treatment of mental health and neurological disorders, we need only turn the collateral damage and death resulting from Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard's quackery:

Outspoken Scientology critic Tory Christman was
in the cult for over 30 years. An epileptic, Christman
was ordered off her medication by her Scientology
superiors, and she nearly died from severe seizures.
That experience was a wake-up call, leading to her
ultimate escape from the cult in 2000.

On December 5, 1995, Scientologist Lisa McPherson
perished at the ill-equipped hands of
Scientologists attempting to "handle" her psychotic break.

MIT student and former Scientologist Philip Gale chose
Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard's birthday (March
13, 1998) as the date for his tragic suicide. Incidentally,
Gale's mother was a high-ranking official in Scientology's
virulent anti-psychiatry front group, The Citizens
Commission on Human Rights.

According to reports and records, Scientologist Heribert Pfaff died at Scientology headquarters in Clearwater, Florida as a result of untreated epileptic seizures. It is reported that his Scientology doctor prescribed him vitamins prior to his death.

The US Government Needs To Investigate Scientology Medical Frauds

This week, we learned that 16-year-old Jett Travolta died after hitting his head during a seizure. His parents have always denied his autism, claiming instead that he suffered from an obscure condition known as Kawasaki syndrome, contracted from “carpet-cleaning chemicals”.

According to For Great Justice:

John Travolta and Kelly Preston have only publicly spoken of their son’s having had Kawasaki Syndrome, an unlikely source of seizures, for which they treated him with Scientology’s vitamin, sauna, and running therapy known as the Purification Rundown. There has also been considerable speculation on whether Jett was autistic or had Asperberger’s Syndrome. While a confirmed diagnosis has not been made public, reports of Jett’s behavior make such a diagnosis more likely than not. At the very least, he suffered some sort of neurological impairment that contributed to his fatal seizure.

In truth, Jett Travolta’s autism has been known about for years. In 2007, Hollywood Interrupted reported:

Tim and Patricia Kenny are the proud parents of a 4 year-old autistic girl, believe that it might be time for Child Protective Services to look into John Travolta and wife Kelly’s negligence in acknowledging their son Jett’s reported autism.

The Kennys also claim that Kelly and John “let Jett sit in front of video games all day eating junk food, while they eat the best organic food money can buy. They exclude Jett from all social events because they are embarrassed.”

“Once,” reports Kenny, “when Kelly took him to the movies, Jett started to have a meltdown and Kelly pointed at the nanny and ordered, ‘Take care of it.’”

“Jett does not speak at all,” confirms Kenny. “He has not even been taught how to communicate. We struggle every week to pay for our daughter’s therapy. How dare he [Travolta] ruin his own son’s chances of recovering! We want to get the word out on this.”

The Travolta family are prominent Scientologists. Scientology doesn’t “believe in” autism, and eschews conventional medicine - including anti-convulsive and anti-seizure medication - in favour of a cocktail of quackery with no basis in medical science. Jett is not the first person to suffer as a result of this kind of “therapy”.

Amid the concomitant tabloid circus, it is easy to forget that this was a real human being: a child suffering from autism. And Jett Travolta did not get the treatment his condition required because his parents subscribe to a cult that recommends pseudo-scientific remedies for serious and debilitating medical conditions.

This morning, a commenter on Damian Thompson’s Holy Smoke blog wrote:

Kelly Preston, Jett’s mother, was on the board of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights which is virulently anti-psychiatry and anti-medication. How many children’s lives have been negatively interfered with by the influence of this Citizens Commission on Human Rights, which is part of Scientology, we shall never know. There is, therefore, a kind of justice that the mother, who demonstrated against psychiatric and medical treatment and who would have been involved in the threatening of psychiatry, has lost a son as a result of this anti-medicine belief that has distressed other parents all over the world.

How true that is. And how easy it is for us to laugh at Scientology - at the ridiculous space opera stories, the E-meters, and the obviously bogus science.

But a child has just died. Whether or not his death was accelerated by the tenets of Scientology, it seems certain that while he was alive, his quality of life was severely impaired by parents who hid him because they were ashamed of him, who were unaware of his death for several hours (his body was discovered by a caretaker), and who denied him the treatment he needed, all as a result of their faithfulness to the principles of Scientology.

It is time that the authorities took the Church of Scientology’s quackery seriously.

Something Fishy Is Going On In New Mexico

This event is the biggest classic comic book villain coming to life. The storyline goes as such: a villain does something evil, then when the hero is on to them, the villain secretly makes plans to move out to another facility which is more diabolical than the temporary facility. The hero breaks into the villains lair and expects to see something there is nothing there, everything is moved out. Nothing is there, it all vanished over night.

There is a case in New Mexico involves Scientology Second Chance Drug Rehab Facility. Many know that Scientology is a fraud, how can a science fiction writer even create a drug rehab center, he isnt credible to do it. News reports hit in about the credibility of the Secret Scientology Program - the Scientology don't want you to find out. Cloaked as a rehab facility, the media finds out about the methods, the relapse rates, and the people they serve, the Scientologist say thats all a lie, which is not. This happened during the beginning of Chanology (March 2008) More digging occurs and something is even more fishy. The state budget goes in and you want more money from the state, (May 2008). Second Chance blew last chance?

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Under cover of darkness Wednesday the troubled Second Chance rehab center mysteriously shuttled nearly 50 patients or inmates away from its facility just ahead of a deadline to explain who it's been housing.

Albuquerque police who put the West Mesa facility under surveillance said they witnessed the bizarre twist in the Second Chance saga early Wednesday. Later in the day the rehab program was under a 5 p.m. deadline to document all its inmates and clients to the city of Albuquerque.

The city wanted to make sure Second Chance wasn't violating its lease by taking inmates without a judge's referral.

Police said they caught a bus and a van sneaking people out.

"This is very disturbing," Chief Public Safety Officer Pete Dinelli told KRQE News 13. "I'm very disappointed."

Dinelli said received documents naming 46 people listed as patients or inmates at Second Chance. But he said he wants to know why 48 apparently additional people were bused out of the addiction-treatment facility early in the morning.

"I don't know if there's a public-safety issue, because I don't know what those 48 individuals were doing there," Dinelli said.

Police followed a van with eight individuals from Second Chance to Interstate 40 and then west until it left the city limits, according to Dinelli. Cops also tracked a bus with 40 others from the facility east to the St. Martin Hospitality Center, a shelter in downtown Albuquerque.

When News 13 went to St. Martin's Wednesday afternoon two workers closing up for the holiday said they did not know of anyone brought in.

So who are these 40 individuals with addiction problems? Were any of them sentenced to the facility as an alternative to jail, and where are they now?

"I think the city's entitled to answers, and we better get those answers," Dinelli said. "Otherwise we may be faced with a situation of evicting."

Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White is among many critics of the facility's addiction-treatment plan that is based on the teachings of the founder of the Church of Scientology and includes vitamin and sauna treatments.

"If anything were to go wrong out there, we wouldn't even know what we're dealing with," White said. "This is a real safety risk for the people of Bernalillo County."

He said the busing of patients should mean no more chances for Second Chance.

"Shut them down," White said. "It's time to put them out of business."

However the city, which leases a former jail near the Double Eagle II Airport to Second Chance, isn?t quite at that point yet.

"We're going to be asking for a further explanation as to what happened this morning," Dinelli said.

News 13 attempted to reach Second Chance President Joy Westrum but instead got a return call from her number from a man who declined to identify himself. However he said he was speaking for Westrum in saying that News 13 was presenting "a false picture to the public."

However the man did not address any of News 13's questions.

If the city decides to evict Second Chance it would take at least 30 days. Dinelli said he'll spend this holiday weekend reviewing the documentation Second Chance provided late Wednesday.

"Distractingly bad," and "unengaging Nazi escapade" are among some of the reviewers' comments attached to "Valkyrie," Tom Cruise's film that opens Christmas day.

Cruise's people can't be happy —for the obvious reasons — but also, according to a source with radio station K-Earth 101, the Cruise camp was willing to go to great lengths to garner some positive publicity. In fact, they went so far as to offer a screening for anyone at the station and their friends at the Cruise home, if only they'd "say 'nice things' about the movie," according to the source.

Here's what's said to have happened. On Nov. 24, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight" called into the show to discuss the exclusive interview "ET" had scored with Cruise. During the course of the interview with Lisa Stanley, Stanley mocks Cruise for not having a German accent in the film, says early viewers "laughed at it," and then asks, "Listen, I'm just curious how you have no German accent, so many delays, and now people are saying, 'It's fantastic!' It's impossible."

Impossible if you've seen the film ... maybe. Which is why, according to the radio station source, a member of Cruise's camp called the station to offer up a free friends and family screening.

"They offered to hold it in Tom's home — they didn't say if he'd be there or not," the source says. "We just had to agree to say 'nice things' about the movie."

Cruise's camp didn't respond to a request for comment.

As of last week, however, "Valkyrie" was tracking similar to Brad Pitt's "Curious Case of Benjamin Button," at least among women who said they would see the films.

This didn't come as a huge surprise to one industry expert, however.

"That data came out in the middle of Tom's publicity run for the film, and Brad's barely done any promotion for 'Ben Button,'" the source notes. "Don't forget, too, that there's a big difference between saying you'd see something and seeing it. We'll have to wait."

He also gave a combined $122,500 to the Church of Scientology, broken into these donations: $67,500 to the New York Rescue Workers Detoxication Fund, $50,000 to the group's Celebrity Center in Hollywood and $5,000 to ABLE, another Scientology offshoot. Smith and his wife have also supported a private school called New Village Academy they opened this fall in suburban Los Angeles that uses Scientology learning concepts.

The NY Rescue Workers Detoxification Fund is a Scientology front group that was created after 9/11 to alledgely get toxins out of the NYPD and NYFD personnel who worked non stop at the site of ground zero. However, the treatement is related the narconon scam. The treatment which they use is called a purficiation rundown; this is supposed to get toxins by you drinking vegetable oil, then take take mounds of vitamins in toxic levels,(niacin) which arent even medically significant to your health. By overdosing on niacin then the scientologists sticks you into a sauna for hours and when regulation states that its unhealty to go for more than 20 minutes. Basically they make you drink vegetable oil, fill you up with vitamins that are useless (can be even more harmful), and roast you in an oven for hours a day to get these toxins out. And this was created by L. Ron Hubbard, who doesnt even have any medical qualifications at all.

LAS CRUCES [New Mexico] — The city is immediately ending an anti-drug program aimed at third-graders after it was revealed it was created and bankrolled by the Church of Scientology.
The “Drug-Free Marshal” program, started in late November, had only been presented to five schools but was intended to be promoted eventually among all third-graders in the Las Cruces Public Schools.

Mayor Ken Miyagishima apologized Saturday and said it was not his intention to promote the religion. The mayor said he was approached this summer by Richard Henley, of Foundation for a Drug-Free World, who showed him a pamphlet adorned with the seals of El Paso, Espanola, the Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s Department and the Horizon City, Texas, and Socorro, Texas, Police Departments and asked if the city would “support eradicating drug use in the community.”
In small type at the bottom, the pamphlet is copyrighted by Foundation for a Drug-Free World, Narconon and Association for Better Living and Education, all Scientology programs.
“It’s my fault for not checking it out,” Miyagishima said. “This is something that I have to put an end to, this portion of it, since it was brought up to me.”
Since all the material was free, Miyagishima said he asked about the funding. He said Henley told him it was donated by a private individual who was interested in eradicating drug use.
“He gave me a couple of names, but not (founder and science fiction author) L. Ron Hubbard,” Miyagishima said.
Most of the literature deals with illegal drugs, but one pamphlet specifically focuses on Ritalin, considered by Scientologists to be a harmful and “mind-altering psychiatric drug.” According to Scientology.org, “psychiatry is not a science.”
Henley said Saturday the church was only one backer and that the material did not have a religious message, comparing it to the multi-faith origins of United Way.

“There is no religious message in any of the materials and the only message of Mr. Hubbard is in connection with the discovery of the toxins,” Henley said, also describing the foundation as “secular.”
When asked if he told Miyagishima about the connection with the Church of Scientology, Henley said “it’s all in the videos on the Web sites that they acknowledge (the connection between the pamphlet and the church).”
Henley also declined to say if the materials had been provided to other New Mexico schools, saying the requests had come from “individual teachers or classes … for two or three years.”
As for the foundation’s message against psychiatric medication, Henley said such prescriptions were up to a “medical doctor” or “medical physician,” terms used in Scientology to distance such doctors from psychology and psychiatry. But he was clear about what he said was the danger of such prescriptions.
“Every single one of the shooters in the schools have been on one form or another of these psycho-pharmaceutical drugs,” he said, though Scientology is opposed to far more than these drugs. According to the Scientology handbook, even aspirin will make someone “unfeeling, insensitive, unable and definitely not trustworthy, a menace to his fellows actually.”
The “Marshal” program was one part of Miyagishima’s “5-2-1-0″ fitness initiative, which also encouraged children to eat five servings of fruit and vegetables, spend no more than two hours watching TV, get an hour of exercise a day, and not to drink sodas — aspects which have recently been praised by U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman, Sen.-elect Tom Udall and the New Mexico Department of Health.
Only the “Marshal” program is affiliated with Scientology.
“I’m going to have to pull the marshal’s badge (program),” Miyagishima said. “First off, I’m not happy that I wasn’t fully informed, obviously, and two, that’s something there that I can’t be — the city can’t be seen as promoting any type of religious activity.”

College Students Cant Be Duped

It may have appeared that Anonymous protests against Scientology for nearly a year has been affective to prevent a scam from holding its grasps on a generation of young people. As the children is our future, they are learning critical thinking skills while in a higher level institution.

On August 18th, 2008, a Scientologist gave a lecture at Southern Methodist University about the religion. However to his surprise, several students of the university knew a lot about the cooky cult. Some students asked questions about the pricing system, Xenu - the intergalactic overlord that scientologists believe is the catalyst of the religion , and the fact that Scientologists don't believe in Jesus Christ. The lecutuer was clearly for a loss of words after the students are not following up to the scam of Scientology.

Anti-Scientology campaigners have begged the Cardinal Archbishop of Mumbai to stop volunteers associated with the group from visiting the traumatised city to distribute booklets by L Ron Hubbard.

Damien DeWitt, the pseudonym of one of the leaders of the anti-Scientology group "Anonymous", has just sent the following letter to Cardinal Oswald Gracias. Quite how His Eminence is supposed to stop followers of Hubbard from planning to "flood" Mumbai with their material is unclear. But I think you'll be interested in the contents of the letter, and in particular the claim that Scientologists exploited 9/11. Here it is:

The Church of Scientology has announced that it is dispatching its Volunteer Ministers (VM's) to disaster sites in Mumbai. The Volunteer ministers must be prevented from participating in disaster relief and trauma counseling efforts at all costs.

They appeared at Ground Zero after our own terrorist tragedy on 9/11, and behaved disgracefully. Head of the Church of Scientology David Miscavige has proclaimed the Global Obliteration of psychiatry, psychology, and religious pastoral counseling to be Scientology's number one priority. The VM's therefore interfered with, harrassed, and blocked the efforts of legitimate, professional mental health and pastoral care counselors.

Damian Thompson of the UK Telegraph has confirmed a report from Counterknowledge that the Church of Scientology is dispatching VM's to Mumbai. Counterknowledge.com is the first to publish this information based on intelligence gathered by the anti-Scientology human rights protest group Anonymous.

Many of us Catholic and Christian critics of Scientology's human rights abuses are deeply concerned about Scientology's infiltration of India and its co-opting government, municipal, civic, and religious organizations, particularly the Catholic church in India.

The VM's routinely deceive the Indian public that they are a secular organization disseminating the humanitarian wisdom of LR Hubbard which is compatible with all religions. If fact, all of its practices are inseparable from the rest of Scientology ... No decent group secular or religious should have anything to do with this organization, especially the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, the VM's have already deceived the Bishop of Ooty into endorsing them by permitting them to teach Hubbard educational technology to students at St Joseph's College. This is a scandal waiting to be exposed [my italics].

A group linked to the Church of Scientology is mounting an emergency campaign to "floodMumbai" with hundreds of thousands of booklets by L Ron Hubbard in order to spread its message to residents traumatised by the terror attacks.

As Counterknowledge.com reports, Scientologists have sent out an email which says: "Flood Mumbai with TWTH [Hubbard's The Way to Happiness] booklets! This will help calm down the area! ... 100,000 booklets can be printed in India. We need to raise £21,000 on an immediate basis to make up the full amount." The operation is being mounted by ABLE, the Association for Better Living and Education, which is officially described as "Scientology-related".

This is not the first time that Scientology front groups have taken advantage of tragic events: after the September 11 attacks in New York City in 2001, a group called the "Volunteer Ministers" appeared at Ground Zero along with other "charitable" organisations. Breaking: STAY AWAY FROM FREE STRESS TEST TABLES, A CONSUMER AND MEDICAL FRAUD.

Everyone has seen them at subway stations, street festivals, shopping malls, and even ordinary city sidewalks: a few friendly-looking people sitting at small, folding tables, with colorful electronic contraptions prominently upon them, and lots of hardbound copies of L. Ron Hubbard books. A sign screams out, "FREE STRESS TEST." Naturally, everyone feels a little stressed out in our modern day, so with a chuckle and a smile, the ordinary citizens passing by may sit down "just to see how this thing works." It is fun to try out this kind of carnival game. Maybe this gizmo will say something amazingly accurate. Also, it’s free. What could go wrong?

Well, a lot could go wrong, and often does. The people with the gizmos are Scientology cult recruiters; the machines themselves are Scientology "E-Meters," a primitive sort of lie-detector machine; and the Hubbard books are part of a sales strategy that is elaborately plotted out to the point of being bizarre, especially for an organization that claims to be a religion. No matter who you are, how you feel, or what kind of jiggles and squiggles the E-Meter apparatus makes in response to you, the Scientologists will tell you that your life is in a rather precarious situation, and that the best thing would be for you to come down to the "church" for further interpretation and advice. Let’s make an appointment for you now. What is your name, address, home phone number, work phone number, cell phone number, e-mail address? You need to buy one of these books, too.

What is this "Stress Test" nonsense?

In the early 1960s, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) realized that Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and his acolytes were claiming that "auditing" with the E-Meter could help to diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses. Auditing, one of Scientology’s core practices, is based on the notion that the E-Meter can reveal a person’s mental state, past lives, and other odds and ends of the unconscious mind. This is done through intensive questioning by an "Auditor," as the subject holds the E-Meter and the Auditor leads him or her through a sort of guided hypnagogic fantasizing. Because Scientology believes that illness is caused by the presence of "suppressive persons," and not germs, toxins, genetics or other causes, Hubbard and the Scientologists were spreading the word that the E-Meter could help root out the suppressive people in one’s life, thereby curing a variety of illnesses and health conditions, raising IQ, and making one successful in every way. This, of course, was completely false.

In 1963, the FDA seized more than 100 E-Meters from the cult’s offices in Washington, DC. Thus began 8 years of litigation, with lots of dramatic highlights that I will not discuss here. On July 30, 1971 Judge Gesell reluctantly ruled that Scientology must, indeed, legally be considered a "religion," but only because the US Government had neglected to do anything about it earlier.

Unfortunately the Government did not move to stop the practice of Scientology and a related "science" known as Dianetics when these activities first appeared and were gaining public acceptance. Had it done so, this tedious litigation would not have been necessary. The Government did not sue to condemn the E-meter until the early 1960’s, by which time a religious cult known as the Founding Church of Scientology had appeared.

Gesell ruled that the Scientologists could keep on auditing and using the E-Meter, but they were forbidden to make any claims that it could diagnose, prevent or treat any health condition. Moreover, they were only to use it under the strictest of "religious" contexts, and they were to prepare warning notices that could be prominently seen on the E-Meter as well as in any literature or publication about the E-Meter or the auditing process. "Ministers" as well as people being audited were required to file affidavits with the FDA. "The effect of this judgment," Gesell wrote, "will be to eliminate the E-meter as far as further secular use by Scientologists or others is concerned."

On appeal, a couple of years later, a federal judge weakened Gesell’s ruling somewhat, but still maintained the following provisions:

E-meters shall be used or sold or distributed only for use in bona fide religious counseling.
Each E-meter shall bear the following warning, printed in 11-point leaded type, permanently affixed to the front of the E-meter so that it is clearly visible when the E-meter is used, sold or distributed: "The E-meter is not medically or scientifically useful for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of any disease. It is not medically or scientifically capable of improving the health or bodily functions of anyone."
Any and all items of written, printed, or graphic matter which directly or indirectly refers (sic) to the E-meter or to Dianetics and/or Scientology and/or auditing or processing shall not be further used or distributed unless and until the item shall bear the following prominent printed warning permanently affixed to said item on the outside front cover or on the title page in letters no smaller than 11-point leaded type: "Warning: The device known as a Hubbard Electrometer, or E-meter, used in auditing, a process of Scientology and Dianetics, is not medically or scientifically useful for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of any disease. It is not medically or scientifically capable of improving the health or bodily functions of anyone."

Why, then, 35 years later, is Scientology "diagnosing" stress with the apparatus, in contexts that are blatantly not "bona fide religious" settings? Instead of following these highly detailed and very explicit instructions, Scientology only does this: its "warning" label, placed discreetly underneath (rather than on top of) the contraption, reads as follows:

"By itself, this meter does nothing. It is solely for the guide of Ministers of the Church in Confessionals and pastoral counseling. The Electrometer is not medically or scientifically capable of improving the health or bodily function of anyone and is for religious use by students and Ministers of the Church of Scientology only."

Scientology also ignores the order to provide the warning on its graphic materials, magazines, web sites etc.

So, these sidewalk stress-testers, "volunteer" Scientology "ministers," who survive on about $35/week, go out every day with the order to sell a certain quota of the Hubbard books for a "suggested donation" of $22 each. Try to make a "donation" of less than that, say, for example, $1, as I tried to do, and several worried hands will rush out to snatch the book from your grasp. Usually, of course, the Scientologists fail to sell their quota of the books, even if they sit out there for 12 hours or more. The quarterly Scientology "Book-a-thons" may prolong their misery still further, and here in San Francisco, for example, we have witnessed many long days on which the Scientologists sold no books at all, and perhaps only giving a handful of stress tests. Most of the time, the Scientologists will play a sort of musical chairs, taking turns in giving each other stress tests, in an effort to seem as though the stress tests are greatly in demand. Considering the elaborate planning and infrastructure behind Scientology’s "Stress Test and Book Sales Org Board," this can only be seen as a tremendous failure.

Things have changed.

Since the beginning of 2008, much has changed in the way the world and the general public view the Scientology cult. The worldwide "Anonymous" peaceful protests and demonstrations have brought a tremendous amount of light and clarity to Scientology’s secretive and immoral practices. People no longer see Scientology as merely a weird and harmless cult. People have begun to understand Scientology’s "disconnection" policy, through which families are destroyed; people now know about its internal prison gulag called the "Rehabilitation Project Force"; people now know about Scientology’s motto of "Always attack, never defend"; people now know that the cult owns a 500-foot luxury cruise ship for tax-deductible Caribbean cruises for Scientologists; about the 21 years the cult knew this ship was full of deadly blue asbestos, but did nothing, because they believe disease is only caused by suppressive persons nearby; people know about the cult’s abusive treatment of children; about its phony "religious worker visa" game to circumvent immigration laws; people now know that Scientology really is what Time Magazine declared them to be in 1991: The Cult of Greed.

The Scientology cult was founded in 1950 by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. Its primary goal is to "clear the planet" by "obliterating psychiatry." Scientology’s many front groups include the Citizens’ Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), Criminon, Narconon, and Applied Scholastics. Scientology claims to be the "world’s fastest growing religion," with some 8 million members, but mainstream demographic surveys have shown that the number of members is closer to 55,000 worldwide, and declining. Scientology is currently under investigation in several countries for a variety of human rights abuses, including child abuse, violation of child labor laws, kidnapping and running secret internal prison camps, as well as for a number of financial crimes. Scientology has already been kicked out of Greece and Italy; in Germany it has been declared a "threat to democracy"; in France its leaders are being prosecuted for fraud; it is on very thin ice as well in Belgium, Norway, and other European countries.

Thanksgiving one of those wonderful celebrations which friends and family spend together eating turkey or turkey substitutes; cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. There are more traditions that come along with the food such as the football games and most importantly the Thanksgiving Parade. Each year tens of millions of people around the United States of America watch this fantastical celebration with floats, marching bands, and the 50 foot cartoon character balloons.

This year was a big surprise to people around the world. An hour after the parade started on television, a big present was given to the people by Cartoon Network. Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends was the float that gave the surprise. Bloo, a character on the television show, was singing in a atrocious tone, Best Friends. This song has been seen on the opening credits on the show Rob and Big on MTV. After a moment of Bloo singing the song, the music cut to Rick Astley. Indeed millions of children, women, and elderly people were shocked to hear it. Scientologists were probably even more stupified by the mainstream success of Rickrolling.

Rick Astley music is a weapon that's Scientology's worst nightmare. When Scientologists hear Never Going to Give You Up they would run like the plague inside their Org's. Now if a Scientologist heard the music that was playing today... their Thanksgiving was ruined. Anonymous has credit to it, but most importantly it was Pop Culture that ruined the Scientologist Thanksgiving. An estimated 54 million people in the United States and Canada watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
